Itinerary

Day 1 – Depart for Caen, Normandy

Depart your school for your coach transfer to Portsmouth for sea crossing to Caen. You will be transferred to your hotel where you will have the evening at your leisure.

Day 2 – Visit the Bayeux Tapestry, Normandy, France

Today you will visit Bayeux. Bayeux is a beautiful city and most people visit here to see the famous Bayeux Tapestry, housed in the centre Guillaume Le Conquerant in an impressive 18th century building the tapestry presents its unique record of events of 1066. The embroidery is coloured wool on a piece of linen, 50cm high by 70m (203ft) long.

Day 3 – Visit the D-Day landings areas and The” Battle of Normandy” June 1944

Today you will visit the D-Day landings areas. The” Battle of Normandy” June 1944 saw one of the most daring manoeuvres of the Second World War. The allies attempted a large scale invasion, code names “over load” into Northen France the beaches code names “Utah”, “Omaha”, “Gold”,”Juno” and “sword”. We will also visit Arromanches Museum and cinema.

Day 4 – Depart Caen, Normandy

You will depart the hotel for your transfer to Caen for your sea crossing to Portsmouth. Upon arrival in the UK you will travel by coach to your school.
